Voddie Baucham

Dr. Voddie T. Baucham Jr. (1969-2025) was a pastor, author, professor, and conference speaker who served as Dean of Theology at African Christian University in Lusaka, Zambia. Raised by a single Buddhist mother in Los Angeles, Baucham came to faith as a college student and went on to earn degrees from Houston Baptist University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, with additional graduate study at the University of Oxford. Before relocating to Zambia in 2015, he served as founding pastor of Grace Family Baptist Church in Spring, Texas, where he became widely known for his expository preaching, family-integrated church philosophy, and cultural apologetics. His ministry emphasized expository preaching, biblical worldview formation, and training African pastors and church leaders. More on his work is available at voddiebaucham.org.
